How much would the gasket cost with labor?

Damn I might as well just sell it

Is it really that expansive. I see head gaskets for $100.. labor to be estimated around 5-700..

Or is there something I'm missing.

The reason you don't see it leaking coolant is because it's mixed with the oil in your pan. That's what caused the milkiness and overfill condition. Yes, just the head gasket can be replaced. The question is how far the car was driven with the blown gasket and if there is any damage to the bottom of the engine. Your best bet would be to have it towed to a reputable shop that works on Infinitis and checked out. The dealer charges $100 an hour for labor.

We don't know. Call the dealership for a quote. They will need to look at the car. So you will have to tow it there.

Let us know the actual cost for future reference.

They may have to pull the head and see if there are any damages.

This is what I was thinking. Since the first time it overheated, the car has been driven no more than a Mile. What would cause the coolant to mix with the oil? A blown gasket? How does the gsket get blown

Yikes I almost feel sorry for you man...

Where the heck did you get the car from??? For a car that "has the mileage yous expect an 06 -07 to have," it sure isn't doing so well.

Man you might want to get rid of this car. I've been reading nothing but problems with your car since you joined the board. Hopefully this thing shapes up for you but it just seems like it might have seen better days.

Good Luck man

It will be up for sale tmw. It's sad I have to sell it. I've been wanting a G for so long, but it's gotta go.. it's been giving me more problems in the past 2 months than I can remember.

The first day I got her it died. got a new battery the next day and it was fine.

I can't explain to y'all how I feel right now, but all in all that's on me. Thanks for the help you guys have given in every thread.

Kid...where do you live and are you in TX. I think your best bet is to get a used motor for between $500-$800 and just drop it in. I can help you with finding labor and parts since I am sure you have learned alot from this whole experience and I feel like a douchecanoe for shutting you down.

Okay to get that price you will have to do research, look into getting freight shipping to save money by getting it form other states. Also look at Car-part and that hooks you up to all the junkyards in the USA. To get it below $1k you have to be careful that you are not getting a motor with too many miles. $800-$1000 should get you a motor with less than 60k miles and some sort of warranty. I would heavily negotiate and offer to pay cash to reduce the final bill...use the sob story about being a kid and buying your dream car only to realize the motor is SHOT.

car-part.com

2006 G35 engine with 51k miles within 350 miles of you with warranty for $1050 and I am sure you can call in an negotiate with the junk yard.

Look at car-part if you need it asap and within your state. Call the top 5 places that are close to you with the lowest mileage engine and some sort of warranty. THen have them compete against each other and price match to get you the best deal. Also contact people on Craigslist to see if they are willing to sell there motor via freight. I found a HR motor with less than 40k for $800. There is tons of deals to be had but stupid people love to blow money on retail markup or members slinging parts for mad $$$$$.

30k motor for $1200 and pretty close to you and he has like 5 motors for sale...so negotiate

http://www.butlerautoparts.net/

$1050 for 51k miles close to you as well

http://www.carguts.com/

$1200 with 47k miles on it and close as well
http://www.bishopsusedautoparts.com/

$1100 and very close but no miles listed so double check

http://www.bestautopartsllc.com/

Craigslist but out of state and can be pricey with freight plus risk of scam

Philly 70k miles for $800

http://philadelphia.craigslist.org/pts/2531073366.html

Miami $1,000 OBO with 35k miles

http://miami.craigslist.org/mdc/pts/2490659386.html

Indianapolis $850 low miles

http://indianapolis.craigslist.org/pts/2512881959.html

Union city $1400 (overpriced so negotiate to below $1,000) with 68k miles

http://newjersey.craigslist.org/pts/2456410631.html

To any other forum members who are thinking of selling there motors please do your research and price it fairly.
