TPM Problem

Just wanted to see if anyone had this TPM issue.

My TPM light comes on and flashes for about 15 seconds, then stays on after I start my car.

The story:

1. One morning, I went to check my tire pressure at a local gas station. It showed 45 psi and I immediately dropped it down to 38. Little did I know later that the air pump had issues.

2. 2 days later, TPM came on in the morning. I went to correct all tires to 38 psi (It was actually sitting at 28psi!), but my TPM continued to stay on. I even checked late at night to ensure it's reading all 38 psi.

I've also checked to ensure that there are no nails on my tires and I did monitor individually for 2 nights.

I've been driving with the TPM light on for about 100 miles now, so any adjustments that require time should be read by now. So what is wrong with my TPM?

If the TPM sensors are dead, then how did it catch my 28 psi?

Has anyone went into this issue before? That light is really annoying and I really want to get rid of it... After all, the TPM is suppose to be a safe feature.

Thanks for your help in advance

Not sure what the big deal was... I've consistently run between 40 and 45 psi in my rear tires for years without a single adverse effect. Unless you're looking for every feasible competitive edge on the track, and/or your driving conditions are extreme, then the difference is/was really negligible.

As for the light being on. try unhooking the battery for a few minutes forcing a reset of the cars computer. Ensure your tire pressure is accurate, re-hook everything up, and then see what happens. It's very possible you have 1 bad sensor and it's tripping the whole shebangabang.

I don't track my car at all, but 40+ psi made my car very bumpy and I wouldn't go back to that. To clarify, I have oem 19s with 225/40/19 and 255/40/19.

Good point, I will try to reset the battery to see if that helps. Thanks!

Just a follow up, I took my car to Nissan and they said that my front left TPM had low battery and needs replacement. Part ~$120 and labor another $120-150...

I am a bit confused that these TPMs actually have a battery life. If that is the case, shouldn't all 4 TPMs die at around the same time if they all come with a battery life? The last thing I would want to see is to replace one every year...

Anyone know the answer for that?
