So.....Why do YOU Mod?
Hi All,
So, what reason do you Mod? I'm sure some do it for speed, looks, for a project, etc. etc.
For me, I have a bad habit of wanting things and I simply MUST have them. lol It's not just with cars, but clothes, electronics, dining out, etc. etc.
When I purchased my G, I had no intention of Modding it whatsoever. Then, I join this sight and start seeing cars like mine but much nicer looking. Then it became... "I have to have those rims/wheels". Oh..... "I can't live without a Motorydyne Spacer". "HFC's.... How can I not have that". The list goes on and on.
Do I really need this stuff? Of course not. Just want my whip to look/perform the best it possibly can be. I've cut myself off of course and will only purchase an exhaust next then THAT'S IT!!! I know, I know, famous last words. I'm sure there will be something I have to have shortly after the exhaust is purchased. lol
My friend is even worse! He has 3x as many Mods as myself and just purchased a Vortec for his ride. When I asked him why he did that since he doesn't ever race or go to the track, and he replied "Well, other people on the website have it so I figured I should to".
Hmmmmmm....... Spending $6000+ on a Vortec because other people have it, whom you'll probably never meet. Interesting concept.
I'm sure there's some people out there that Mod heavily simply because they want to fit into the scene/website.

I do it for looks. I don't have any power adders or anything like that. I had an S2K and that had enough power for me so the G is even better. My S was modded for looks pretty much too except for an intake.
I tried so hard to keep the G stock but I couldn't. I gotta at least lower it, tint and have nice wheels on it. Most cars can be improved upon, I think so for me, I guess a completely stock car is kinda boring (unless it's a Ferrari, Lambo, etc.) and just isn't gonna cut it.

the looks other people give when i drive by
a project. i like to learn about cars, and by doing all these things, i can now hold a decent conversation on cars and a very detailed one on audio systems (did mine myself from scratch)
pride. i worked my *** off to afford this car, i want it to be amazing

just figure out your wants and needs and then mod accordingly. For me the car is quick enough, so I can't justify the costs of spacers etc. I just want to keep the clean factory lines, get some wheels that function and are true to the spirit of the car, and dial in my suspension to make my commute a fun experience.
I will never enter a car show, feel the need to draw unnecessary attention my way, or be quick at the quarter mile, keep it simple :]

passion, theres nothing better then the feeling you get after modding your car, even something really small, and somebody else says that they they love that specific part, and even if nobody likes what im doing to my car, as long as i like the way it looks and performs then THATS why i do it. i want to change it and make it unique and my own.
