Also, about the price, if you pay 360 you can get a full keyless entry with push start button that replaces your factory key.

This is what I will be switching over to in a couple of months
That system looks like what I've been looking for. Did you ever install it?

(Sorry for thread jack)

that is a good price for the kit, considering the new viper systems are $500 but they do have the phone app which is pretty cool but this converts to push button start

Good job on the install!

I bought my st800 system a few months ago when htey had a group by, picked it up for 280! Gonna get it installed whenever I get my car back. Kit looks very well made with tons of features, the only bad thing i can see is the cutting of the key.

The G is equipped with a vehicle immobilizer system which wont allow the car to be started unless a key with the correct chip attached is placed in the ignition. You can turn the cut key all day long and it won't allow the car to start. The chip that's placed in the immobilizer bypass module won't send the signal from the chip out unless you are starting the car with the touch start. All other times the immobilizer system in your car is fully operational.

According to Auto-Innovatio the ST800 is equipped with a built in starter kill so once our vehicle is armed the starter kill is also activated so with these two security features at work there make it safe...

Any suggestions on how to close that gab?

I'm aware of the security features of the unit. I'm not saying the key is going to start the car but just the cutting of the key can be a turn off for some. The only reason it's there is to prevent the steering lock, so in a sense you do lose one security feature in the process.

Mine came with a rubber trim piece that goes behind it, but i guess the push start system doesn't.

Mine actually came with a trim in the shape of a ring. The one you bought is a cover if you plan to mount the button some place else. I will take a pic for you.

Thanks! Well now that I think about it, I might just position the touch start somewhere else, then use that cap I ordered to cover the empty gap.

Please send me a picture of that trim and cap whenever you get a chance.
