black roof...IP coupe!!!!

hey guys, i got an ip coupe and i love it!

im looking into getting the roof done in black...but should i get it painted or go with the vinyl?

and what type of prices should i be expecting to pay?

also if anyone is in the gta (toronto) and can recommend me to either a vinyl shop or a body shop that does excellent work please let me know! thanks guys, i cant wait to get this done, i think every g coupe should have come with a black roof!

im thinking the same thing.! but black roof is a huge step. you cant go back to chrome rims i think.. thats why im still debating but if you go vinyl your good. They charge 180 for vinyl wrap here in socal if that helps.

IMO, painted looks a whole lot better...but obviously, if you're not looking for something that's as permenant, vinyl is the way to go. Guess it just depends on how sure you want a black roof. I believe bluebatmobile (same guy that does the tinted tails and headlights) sells a vinyle roof overlay for pretty cheap (less than $100). Painted, professionally, you're probably looking at $200 or so.

i absolutly love the look of a gloss black roof on a ip coupe...and im just looking for quality to be honest, i wouldnt mind having it painted...once i go black i no i wont go back!
but in all honestly if its a 20$ price difference from vinyl to paint, i think i would go with the paint..

If the high gloss black roof is your thing have it painted. You do realize by doing so the interior temp of your G will be 20 degrees higher?

Damn, that's high for a simple gloss black! I could see a 3 stage paint job (like the oem IP) costing that, but a simple gloss black should be less.

OP, definetly shop around!

will never understand people who jus make the top part of the roof black. i dont get that look. why not complete the look and make the pillers black too? its like the car is a certain color but has this big black square in the middle lol

Black pillars?... Now THAT sounds ugly. Unless your car is black of course.
