OBX throttle body spacer sound?
OBX throttle body spacer sound?
Hi everyone, today I installed an OBX throttle body spacer on my 2004 G35 coupe 5A/T and I have this odd suction sound now during acceleration. It starts sucking from 2000rpm up to over or around 4000rpm-ish. That sound was not there before. I made sure to place in the sealing o-rings and tighten the bolts as best I could. But I still have this suction sound. Like some sort of air leak. Not sure what to do or if it is normal. I have an Injen SRAI and Motordyne 5/16" plenum spacer, did not have that noise before other than the normal Intake woosh when I reved. Now I have a suction sound going on... Is this normal? It kind of sounds like a supercharge or something... The car does not show any check engine light or no notifications of something wrong. Any ideas or advice or tips? It has me un-easy.

Thank you.
Thank you.

The throttle body spacer suppose to make that supercharger noise. I have it on my G and makes the same noise. It's just the way the air circulates threw the spacer. The TB spacer does not increase
Hp just makes the intake sound louder.

How about low end torque and mpg? Does it better the mpg a bit? I read OBX can raise it up to 4mpg. And a bit more torque at low end.
I am sure if it was that easy to squeeze a few more mpg's and power Nissan would have already done it.

G35 sedan w/ too much money in mods

Ahh the old TB spacer debate. OP some members here have claimed HP increase, but no one has proven it with a dyno sheet. Like 4D said above our engines don't benefit from some of the more common power adders, Nissan really did a great job of squeezing almost all of the power out of the DE possible w/o going to a supercharger of turbo. With your mods your best bet for more power would be HFCs, exhaust, and a tune. You'll be pretty maxed out at that point for bolt-on power adders.

Nice. I see. Lets see what happens.
It would be great to have a better gas consumption.
How about some torque? Anything regarding torque?
