Yesterday I went in to pick up my license plates for my new G35 Coupe, then afterwards I paid a visit to the service manager. I wanted to show him the crap load of grease that is pasted to the inside of my passenger window.
"Don't bother", he said, "Just got in the TSB today". That's right. Infiniti has issued a TSB for ALL G35 Coupes concerning window grease on the passenger (and driver) side windows. He showed me the actual TSB document but I never did get the TSB# from him.
He has the parts on order - when they come in he's going to call me to do the fix.
I would advise anyone who has this problem (or even those that don't!) to contact their service manager ASAP. It should have been a nationwide TSB, so if your service manager says he doesn't have it, he's lying.

Not to ask a stupid question (but guess I already am), but is that the TSB# you just gave? How'd you get it?

 

Yes, ITB03-021 is the TSB# for the grease problem.

I had been following this grease problem closely since it really really pisses me off. Once the 350z received a TSB for theirs, I knew it was only a matter of time before we got the same fix. So once you mentioned the TSB, I contacted Infiniti Consumer Affairs and they were clueless as usual. However, when the TSB for the Z was announced, there was a special method for dealerships to find the number before it was "released." I ran this by a trusted dealer over at FreshAlloy, lo and behold he got back to me with this number.

It's a 2 hour fix that requires taking the door panels off and replacing some parts. It may take some time before local dealerships get these parts. I go in for my 3,750 service on Monday and I passed this TSB# off to them over the phone. Hopefully they will have the parts.

Thank you for the TSB#! I'm surprised how calm most the G35 Coupe owners are, unless they don't care?? I was amazed as to how many people hadn't even "rolled their windows down yet" to see the problem.
Oh well..

 

This grease issue is a huge problem for a lot of owners. It's only been one day. I remember people complaining about the grease many many times. But one thing to keep in mind is that the coupes were delivered during the winter. This problem becomes more noticeable when the weather gets hotter.
