Rear Seat Removal

Gents,

Tell me how to remove the rear seat of my 07 coupe? What am I doing specifically and what should I look out for. I have convinced myself to replace my own fuel sensor. Just need guidance on the seat removal. What is the trick or technique to get this done without me going hulkamania and ripping this bench out my car?

Thanks............

Its only clips that hold the bottom portion down, lift seat up to remove.

I've read that the bottom part u just pull up hard from the sides. DO NOT PULL up from the middle (middle console WILL Break). I have been wanting to do this but i still don;t know how to remove the top portion.

Very interested on this post.

I've taken out my rear seats may times.

There is a thread that shows pictures if you search for it.

Fold the seat down, remove the 4 or so 10 or 12mm bolts, unclip the cable, slide the top seat forward and out. I've pulled on the middle part of the bottom seat many times and works fine for me. you have to give it a really good tug if it's the first time it's being pulled. Whole job only takes about 5-10 minutes.

There is a weight loss thread somewhere but since we're talking about the rear seat i'll ask here. Does anyone know how much the entire rear seat assembly weighs?

you only need to remove the bottom cushion to get to fuel stuff. the cushion is held in place by two clips at the front of the cushion. just grab the front, middle of each seat and pull up sharply.

Ok. I will check it out this weekend for a practice run. If all goes well then I am replacing my own sensors....

Is it so easy a cave man can do it?

What you do is you ask nicely Mr. JOKER to give you a copy of a service manual which has a step by step instructions on how to completely disassemble and assemble your car.

Hi guys this is driving me nuts! I have read countless posts on removing the rear seats and still can't for the life of me get them out. I have an 05 coupe and have tried pulling forward and lifting up and also lifting straight up to no avail. Does any one have a trick or had the same problem and then had an a-ha! moment and then got them out? I want to clean my fuel sending units but the rear seats just won't budge. Please help!

I did I did! Haha I feel like another poster when he said he had his big military friend try. I ended up using the small car jack and it popped no problem. In case anyone wants a solution with little effort.

in order to pull the rear seat out of the car, you have to remove front seat right? or it has enough room to get it out.

Comes out fine with both front seats moved up.
