NON-Bose Stereo
... so I get a loaner today because I am getting the dealer to install new tires that I got from tirerack... and it has the Satalite radio install. sounds good. I am listening to it and I'm like wow the balance between the highs and lows are nice... I turn it up sounds very powerful. I start to think... man these Sedans sure have a nice sound... then I look at the faceplace.. IT'S NOT BOSE ... I'm thinking wow did we(us Bose buyers) get robbed I didn't miss my Bose one bit... I wonder if it was the SAT radio feed that made the difference because I don't have it in my coupe(?)

Alignment with tire install??
Howdy,
Did your Infiniti dealer suggest a front alignment adjustment to lessen the effect of inner edge tire wear leading to increased wear and early noise on the max performance summer tires (OEM especially)?? A service tech at Infiniti Richmond suggested that to me and said they are doing that when people bring their G35 coupes in for new tire installs. If so, do you have the specs?
Also, for Xcelr8 -- I buy my tires from Tirerack also and have a set of the new AVON Tech M550 A/S tires on back order -- can't wait to install and run them to see about improved comfort, reduced noise, and longer tread wear. I am OK with the slight loss of handling because I really don't push the car to extremes.
What are you hearing at work about the new AVON tire??
p.s. just ordered and installed a set of Firestone Firehawk Indy 500s on my '97 MPV all sport van (winter driver) 2 weeks ago (along with a new set of KYB gas struts on the front) and so far am really pleased with noticeable increase in nimbleness and sure-footedness on the road. Of course and MPV is not made for corners, but still I feel more confident through any turns-- coment on these tires??
THX to both of you in advance for any comments

The Indy 500 has been around for a long time (formerly known as the SS-20) and is considered a performance all season tire. I think its a combo of the new KYB struts and new tires that is helping handling. Although classified as an original equipment replacement, the KYB struts are 10% stiffer than you factory strut. They do this to compensate for some loss in your factory spring stiffness. Before my G I had those struts installed in a 98 Intrepid and could really notice the reduced pitch and roll. Much more so than when the car was new. So its a combo of good tires and stiff shocks that have made the handling more confident.
