G35 emergency Brake Squeaks

So I have a question to ask. I have a 2006 G35 Coupe 35k miles on it, and last night while I was parking i put on my emergency break and I heard a squeak.

My question is simple is the squeak from the break pad or do I need to swap out the emergency break shoes?

I have visually inspected the breaks and the look fine, Ill probably replace them soon.

Were you on an incline? My driveway is fairly steep, when I set the E-brake and release the brakes, the weight shifts back and the E-brake does sqeak a bit.

With 35k on the car, you shouldnt have to be changing out the E-brake shoes anytime soon. Are you 6MT or 5AT? If 6MT, it would be used more often, but since it's typically in use when a car is stationary, not much shoe material would be lost. If your 5AT, and dont use the E-brake often, that could be your culprit. The most you could do is clean up the inside of the E-brake housing. Remove your rear wheel, remove the brake caliper, remove the rotor and clean up the inside. Also, give it a visual while youre in there.
