First off I want to say sorry for bringing this old thread up again, I know I might get as much bashing as the the op got just for doing so.

Anyway the reason I am posting is I had the same thing happen to me and so I searched online and only found this thread. There is a guy I work with who owns a 01-02 Nissan frontier and a 01-02 xterra and my key fob opens both of his cars he's doesn't know yet cause he might not be comfortable knowing I can open both of his vehicles, i own a 02 frontier xe. Today leaving work I unlocked my truck witch also unlocked his xterra and he had no clue I even did it while he was already inside but hes kinda old so he didn't realize what I was doing. When I bought the truck a few months ago the fob didn't worked but followed programming instructions and it worked.

I uploaded a video on YouTube during my lunch break titled Nissan keyfob opens two vehicles. I don't know how to upload it to forums.

 

My fob for my 2003 g35 coupe unlocks my 2002 xterra too. It's really annoying but whichever car I'm not getting in automatically relocks itself after a couple mins of not being opened so at least I don't have to worry about accidently unlocking it. I haven't tried it on any other cars I guess I could try my moms 04 350z but I'm pretty sure it only works on certain ones or at least that's what my mechanic said. He said its really common

 

lol damn, makes me wanna go try mine on other Nissan's.
