Having trouble learning heel toe on my stock coupe

so i have the stock pedals, and honestly my feet are simply not wide enough to have the outside of my feet on both brake and gas pedals at once. unless i actually use the heel and toe(which ive heard isnt the proper form) i feel this technique isnt possible unless you get third party pedals.

has anyone changed out their pedals to rectify this? is using your heel and toe proper?

Its you, not the pedals.

But if you wana learn. Go on youtube and watch some best motoring battles.... It will take a bit of practice, but imo its an essential skill if you would ever wana auto-x or circuit your 6mt

I have it down fairly decent and my feet are pretty dang narrow.

Like said above it just takes some time getting used to it. The first few times i did it, it was fairly rough. However, it does get better, faster, and smoother

That is the perfect heel-toe form. Learn it well.

Some other guys try to use half their shoe on the brake and half the shoe on the gas (lengthwise) Do not do this! IME if you get your foot at a 45degrees angle across the pedals, it will be a much cleaner and safer technique! Heel should be the only thing hitting that gas. (you can also use the outer side of your foot if your feet are big, and you cant get the angle, but make sure your getting a 45 degree angle)

But other than that.... practice, and never do it lengthwise.

One of the most important things to remember is not to sacrifice good solid foot positioning on your brake peddle in order to blip the gas pedal. The ball of your foot should be used to do the braking, then when you are ready to downshift, keeping the ball of your foot on the brake, you then rotate your foot and blip the gas pedal and smoothly release the brake when you are sure you have the tach in the correct rpm range to match your speed and gear. Do NOT sacrifice sure brake pedal footing in order to learn how to do this.
