Keeping CD's in CD changer?

Since I can't stand the radio, unless I'm desperate, and I can't afford a new stereo or FM transmitter just yet, I've resorted to using CDs for a a bit. Works great, although the only problem is that when I leave them in my car, it seems like they get damaged and idk why. Is this normal? What do you guys do with your CDs? I'm burning another one as we speak, but it is rather annoying when it skips around, or doesn't play songs altogether. And it seems like a a pain in the *** to take them in and out everytime you get in and out the car.

i seem to have a similar issue with my audio unit. Sometimes I start the unit up in the morning to play some music, and the CD's either skip every 3 seconds, or the song just wont play at all. I dont think i've noticed the CD's being damaged though, but usually ejecting and reloading the CD's seem to help.. big pain in the rear. and infiniti, albeit like a lot of other manufacturers, thought it was clever to integrate the audio unit to the center panel.

What kind of damage do you get? (more info.)

I've left CD's in for long periods of time without issues, but I know that our head units can get fairly hot (which I believe accounts for some of the failure rates). Are you in a warm climate?

I left CDs filed with MP3 in my 2006 350Z for years and never got damaged.
I live in South California, and here is hot.

I leave mine in and there's no damage. Maybe something is wrong with your HU.

I leave mine in all the time and every once and a while I get back in and the CD I was listening to from the. Ignt before would say bad disc and I know it's not I just eject it and reinsert it and it's fine... Yeah pain but bets having to buy a whole new set up at the moment " what it's like 200+ for a face plate interface and whatever the aftermarket radio is" all because the ac controles are included lol.... It is what it is.....

I have that skipping issue on cold mornings. Almost as if the HU needs to warm up first. Sometimes my front left speaker doesn't work when I play cd's but it always works fine with the radio. Very strange.

I thought this was just me... This happens occasionally to me too. I think it is just a sign that my speaker is going out soon.
When I switch back to satellite or to the am/fm tuner it plays fine. Odd tho.

IMO this could be the head unit, not the speaker.

what/how are you attaching your ipod to the stock head unit?

There's an adapter you can buy. It's pricey. I just use the FM transmitter.

I have a problem with my CD player also. CD #3 and #4 doesn't work in my car. sometimes I have to pull the CD out and reinsert it so it can read the CD, otherwise it will skip to the next CD. I guess its another thing to add to the list for the G35.

when i use shitty quality cd's my car has trouble reading them, and they degrade fairly quickly. i leave my CDs in the car for long periods of time and never had a problem. MAYBE occasionally it starts to skip and i just take it out and wipe it and it works better. maybe dust is accumulating inside the HU and just needs a quick wipedown
