What is the "Slip" light for?

This thing lit up today as I took a corner at 40mp to test out the new Stillen Sway Bars. Is this the light for VLSD?

No, it tells you that your VDC has engaged (like you can't feel it enough already)...

The car's computer thinks you are having too much fun...

But seriously, the computer detected a loss of traction. This could be wheels spinning or sliding out. The car then reduces throttle and applies brakes to try to get the car under control. Go to Infiniti.com and click on "Vehicle Dynamic Control".

It is NOT the same thing as VLSD.

Can you disengage this feature? My '01 Mustang has a traction control button that you press to turn off the system.

Thanks.

Chaps, just a note of caution before you disengage the VDC, get some practice in first. With VDC off your car will spin out in any bad weather condition.

Yes, you can disengage it. That is how a number of members have gotten into accidents.

It's a very good idea to turn off the VDC in a controlled environment, so that you can get used to it.

If you really do want to turn it off, the button is by your left knee by the trunk switch. It's labaled "VDC off".

I'm not sure what your intent was in the last sentence. But none of the RWD cars I've driven ever spun out from just driving in ANY adverse weather condition.

i don't think he meant if you drive a RWD car, and you turn your VDC off, your car will DEFINITELY spin out.. it's definitely more likely if you have it off, but either way, in adverse weather conditions, RWD is more likely to spin out..

either way, if you do want to turn your VDC off, take it easy at first.. and realize that pushing the button doesn't turn the VDC completely off, only a percentage.. if the car senses too extreme of a loss of traction, it will engage the VDC anyways..

turning vdc off is not a good idea while racing sti's in the RAIN.
U must be thinking of suicide by racing STIs in the rain even VDC on.
