sigh. if you're going to get one of these cars, learn how to change your own oil.. i would NEVER trust my car with walmart... ever.

Also, don't bother with the garbage aftermarket headlights. the ones with the 'halos', 'leds', and 'projectors' are all garbage.

The halos don't last long, the LEDs are poor quality, the projectors are pieces of garbage and will NEVER perform to OEM 06-07 headlight standards, and the 06-07s look a hell of a lot better. the aftermarket ones just look cheap and tacky IMO. too busy. The projectors in the 06-07 headlights use OEM G35 projectors which are 100x better than the garbage ones in the aftermarket lights. and the g35 projectors are one of the underperforming projectors on the market. clear lenses will improve the output and the sharpness and color drastically.

also, don't get blue bulbs. the highest temperature i'd go is 5000k. 6000k is baby blue if it's the proper color from a aftermarket seller (i don't want to hear that it's pure white, i'll argue till my face turns blue -.-). also, aftermarket bulbs don't last, the arc of the light is all messed up because of cheap manufacturing, the glass is thin, you get what you pay for.

if you go with OEM 06-7 lights, you get all of the bulbs, including OEM 4300k bulbs, and it'll last you years.

the OEM 06-07 lights are around 520 shipped i think.

The aftermarket poop ones are around...350 - 400 shipped? i could be wrong. then you'll need to get HID bulbs which range from $10 pieces of garbage, to $80 of equal garbage. for the small price difference, OEM or nothing.

+1 With aa2033. If you're one of those consumers that get their oil change from Walmart. The G is not a suitable vehicle for you.

Having the rev-up motor is not a deal breaker at all. Grabbing a 6mt coupe/sedan 05+ is worth it just for the interior revision alone.

This. Took the words right out of my mouth. If you want to own a car like the G.. Walmart will never be sufficient. And ALWAYS ALWAYS choose OEM over aftermarket. I really hate those cheap ebay ones.. it's so bad.. when I see one with those it makes me want to cry.

I just got my06 6mt about a month ago and it seems to have the oil consumption problem.. but I don't mind. It is worth it. I'll just keep an extra bottle of oil in my trunk. Ain't nothing to a G enthusiast. I need to do the oil consumption test at Infiniti once the warranty is transferred over to me.

I have a good one

My 06 6mt has not used a drop of oil since I bought it 3 months and 3000 miles ago, I guess I am lucky. I checked it once a week for the first month after reading all the posts on here about the Rev Up motor.

06 6MT and my oil consumption is minimal. Maybe 1/4 quart in the summer over 5000 miles. And I use Mobil 1.

Just check the oil every week and make sure you change the oil every 3.5K - 5K miles. You could also try the Mobil 1 "high mileage" oil that is designed for older cars with slightly leaky piston rings.

1/4 quart over 5000 miles would be completely NORMAL. My 06 6MT is about the same, no excessive consumption.

But the OP is buying an auto, which doesn't have the revup engine, so has less of an OC issue risk.
