Dealer BS

I took my G to the only Infiniti dealer in town. My G tends to vibrate randomly when on the gas and the whole care shakes. You can feel it in the steering wheel, shifter and pretty much hear it. I had them check it out for me.

They took 2 hours to 'look' at it before I told them that I would need to go. The service manager proceeds to tell me that I don't have my stock cats and that is what is causing the vibrating and that it is bolted to the rest of the car. He says in a real dramatic way, 'thats a $20,000 fine and Infiniti will void your warranty cause of it'. I tell him that the vibrations where there way before I even changed to test pipes and say there is no way that it is caused just by the pipes if it did contribute to it. "I won't argue with you but thats the reason why". He goes back to get my car for me and says oh and one of the wheels is bent.

That's a better answer than giving me that bs and trying to play me for a complete idiot. He said he would write it off as a modified exhaust and not the pipes so they wont kick out my warranty.

A part from rape prices do they really have to be a d**k on top of it. /rant

Really just depends on the dealers. Some are very mod friendly like oc infiniti and some are dicks. Also depends on the person. Least he didnt void ur warranty.

Ps. Alsp prob not a good idea to take it in with test pipes to dealers bec they can pull that card and blame that for anything wrong with the car.

dealers always use mods as a excuse not to fix cars. i would put your oem stuff back and take it to another dealer. sounds like you might be getting misfires. i would check your wires and plugs.

take it from me, i work at nissan in memphis in the service dept. it really really depends on who you deal with. some of these guys i work with are complete *******s, and think they are technicians and arent anywhere near them. sucks to say but find someone you are comfortable with and only see/talk to them. dealer or non dealer. if you are in memphis and need anything come holler at me and ill do the best i can to help you out. name is Nick. (Dobbs Nissan)

Like already mentioned, its who you talk to. Somewhat recently I had a rack-and-pinion assembly replaced under warranty. Went to the dealer with my current setup; turbos, straight pipes.......etc and didn't have any problems.

OP, where are you located?

Also agree that it's likely the bent wheel causing the vibrations...

I forgot I made this thread, frusterated at the time.

I'm in Vegas. I know it had to be one of the wheels or something in the suspension. My compressions rod bushings are shot and are covered under my warranty($100 deductable) but multiple people have said it shouldn't be caused by that. I'll get that done soon tho.

I'm gonna get a front alignment and wheels balanced to see if it will help.

It's not a big deal when it vibrates but annoying when it does happen often.
