Rate my purchase....and helpp

So I have a 2004 nonrev 5AT g35 coupe.

Just bought the pelenium spacer iso thermal as my first mod and also bought a drop in K&N filter.

I am look at CAI and they seem not to do much to our cars HP wise, I was wondering if I bought a ztube would it help with these mods complementing it? and should i just buy the actual tube or the whole kit??

thanks guys

on a side note getting tints done this weekend, 5% back and side back windows, 35% on passenger and driver side.

my next and only performance mod after this will be exhaust! (not messing with cats though as i live in Cali and smog regulations suck). any links or tips on what I should get for that>......looking for something louder then OEM exhaust but same sound.

intakes on our cars don't really increase HP. Just a nice sound. K&N filter and tube is the way to go buddy! Whats your budget on a new exhaust and used exhaust?

Budget is 1200 ish. But it still has to pass smog. Maybe I wont mess with Cai.

Cai does increase horespower... just way high in the power band where you won't notice it... something like 5500-6200 rpms.

Still worth it imo for the sound and throttle response.

IMO, just get the Z-tube and keep the stock airbox. Can't go wrong

Awsome! I think with the ztube, drop in airfilter, pelenium spacer, and a new exhaust I will get some decent hp gains and a nice louder sound. Plus that should cost like 2.5k all together at the most.

any other suggested mods? no forced induction plz

ztube and jwt pop charger. It's worth it for the hissing sound and the gulping sound under heavy throttle..

I did the same to my intake (ZTube, K&N drop-in and MD Spacer). I also put the revup air box on mine. I'm very happy with the result. You might want to see if you can find a revup air box on the marketplace. They're pretty cheap.

OK. I rate your purchase 2716 out of 67292.

Also. Congratulations on that <insert word here> "window tint" <>, I heard it was awesome!

I wish people would discuss the z-tube more on here, there are barely enough threads asking about it..

Well from what have read getting the ztube is the best option. Getting the full ztube CAI actually decreased HP ad TQ at low level rpm's.

Basically if you want to mod a G35 engine on a budget this is what you do (nonrev):

-ztube
-drop in air filter
-Exhaust and cats
-pelenium spacer

looking at 1.5-3k here depending on exhaust and installation. As for the CAI and the pop charger I heard that is strictly for exhaust sound and wont really increase power even when combines with above mods.

please correct me if I am wrong this is what i have learned so far from reading the forums.

Haha, I was waiting for a comment on the "tints". That's such a widely used word.

I'm less than a week into ownership of my G and read so much about the Z tube I decided to purchase it in a kit with the JWT setup. Thinking twice though I might flip the JWT and go with a K&N or Apexi drop in. Time will tell.

Enjoy your new to you ride!
