Is it normal that the engine in our Gs kind of rev a little more even after you release your foot from the gas pedal? I'm thinking that it's a result of the heavy internals that's causing it to do this but was just curious if everyone else's does this too?
I'm just used to the revs dropping almost right after you left off the gas as opposed to it revving up a little bit more and also when I hit rev limit it doesn't sound like I'm used to.

Can you be more specific about the circumstances surrounding these revs? Are you talking about when you let your foot off the gas while the car is in gear(manual trans), or when you throw it in neutral and coast?
No, this is normal when the throttle position sensor is thrown off. The car will act almost like there is a vacuum leak.
Our cars don't have that auto rev match feature for the 6MT's... at least not in a G35. The latest gen G37's may have it, since the newer Z's do. Seems like it might be a good feature for inexperienced manual drivers, but I personally would rather not have it just for the purity and full experience of driving and heel-toeing. No need to Heel-toe if the car rev matches for you.

i had this problem after i installed my APS intake manifold. my rpms would jump up about 300 everytime i switched gears.. after i did these resets it solved the problem.

Funny, I thought the "Rev it up" Motor did this. I only test drove one manual transmission G35... the one I bought. I noticed that the motor did seem to Rev a little on each shift. It did this when my wife drove it also. Now, it had been ~7 years since wither of us had driven a manual transmission. The more I drove it the less it seemed to do this. I thought it was just me and the way I was driving. I really can't figure out the clutch on the G exactly. I still have a slightly shaky start about 10% of the time I start from a dead stop. My clutch is also worn out and slips if I shift around 6k rpm's so that may add to this too.

I had to pull over and shut her down again. The 2nd restart allowed the car to rev/drive like normal, but my SES light is on. Advanced Auto Parts checked it for me and it's showing Code 2135. Ugh! Good thing I purchased the extended warranty with it. It's been ~2 weeks and I haven't had a chance to take it to the shop yet. So to bring it back, I wonder if the Throttle Position Sensor has been off on my car all along? I don't think so since it didn't rev up every time and really hardly did that for the last few hundred miles I've driven the car. I've only put 1,000 miles on it since I bought it 9 weeks ago.
To the OP- this may be your driving or maybe it's your TPS too? Sorry I can't help, but thought I'd share my experience with you all.

The G37 6mt has no rev matching like the 370z 6mt. I know exactly what the OP is referring to as I notice it occasionally when shifting any faster than casually.
I think what's happening is the clutch is getting depressed slightly faster than the throttle being eased or closed. In that instant, the rpms spike slightly. I think this is also part of the reason many have issues with the 1-2 shift. To combat this, I try easing off the throttle before depressing the clutch. If timed right, there is no spike.
That aside, the vq37 (vq35 too?), is a very rev happy engine. My camaro lt1 (5.7L v8) was much slower in revving up and down (more reciprocal mass, heavier flywheel too I bet). The transition from one to the other is still ongoing (only had the G for 4 months now). In fact, I'd almost say the G revs as fast as my 1L 4cyl motorcycle (which only has a redline of about 4500 rpm higher
).
