2007 G35 coupe air Intake mod

I just bought my G35 a month ago as some of you may know. I want some opinions on air intakes . I don't want cold air intakes bc I don't want any water going up my engine. Don't even want to test it. So short ram is the way to go I heard .. I had my mind set on a K&N "dual" air intake. It looks cool. K&N sales it for $350.00 shipped. What do you guys think?

Don't waste your money, there are no gains to be had HP wise, it's all about looks and sound, get a z tube and a k&n drop in filter it'll be much cheaper

Already have the K&N drop filter. It came with the car when I bought it. When you say get a Z tube. What dose that mean exactly if you don't mind breaking that down to a newbie like myself? lol Wheres the best place to obtain the Z tube? Is it a easy install? How much money?

It's the intake tube that comes off a 350z. It is hollowed out for better flow. The G tube has baffles in it so it doesn't have a more noticeable intake sound like a sucking sound. Check the marketplace or even a Nissan dealer in your area.

Hey it's me again....lmao I went to our MARKETPLACE under Private Classified then Intake and found several member selling their z-tubes. That'll change the way your coupe sounds and one of he first mods I made due to it's simplicity....Gary

It's not going to be a HUGE difference, but I just popped mine on last weekend and there is a suttle difference when you're on the throttle. Enough of a difference to be a worth while mod IMO. There are some vids on YouTube of Gs with Z-Tubes installed. Check them out and compare it to how yours sounds.

Right on I can't tell a big difference so I may just hold off on this idea and stick with just getting those aluminum pedals I really wantl. The G IMO sounds great enough stock.! I don't want a Honda sound coming out of my G baby lol

If you add a Z tube in place of the G tube your car will sound nothing close to a Honda.

at 3k+ the car growls a little louder with the Z tube. Best mod for the money at 50 bucks used.
