Smile PLASTIC Z TUBE OR POLISHED for 07 coupe

So as I'm looking to mod my stock air intake system on my 07 g35 coupe, I noticed the previous owner already had installed a K&N drop in charger filter. Now i"m looking into buying the Z tube. I see that there is a Polished version as well. Can I buy the Polished version and will it still work with my stock air box and everything else. I"m just assuming the only difference is the material but everything is so technical now a days you never know. Some confirmation would be nice thanks!

Yup it will work and it will get very hot too. I would stick with plastic unless you just want it for looks.

All stick with plastic, if this thing is only meant for looks lol! I thought maybe it had a little more performance in it being polished aluminum or whatever it is.

Get the plastic/rubber one. Whatever it's made out of. Some people have had problems with the polished aluminum one where it peals on the inside.

Okay i debadged the trunk today. Decided it looked to naked so adding the infiniti symbol back on. As for this custom short ram intake. I bought a OEM Z tube, a 4 inch K&N high flow air filter with a 3 inch Spectre air adapter sensor. My question is, how did i do on this setup? Also when removing the stock air box i noticed underneath that there like a plastic long plastic tube tucked under it bolted on? Dose the whole bottom plastic engine cover have to be taken off to remove it? It looks like a useless tube.
