Fast Flashing Red Light Over 5,000 RPM
Fast Flashing Red Light Over 5,000 RPM
Lack of oil in engine? Is my initial thought. Waiting for engine to cool to measure oil level.
What eles could this be? Engine runs fine, no leaks, noises etc.
'05 6MT,
Update: Oil level was at the halfway point on the dipstick.

^its probably your shift light...if you get within 500rpms of it does it flash? then once you hit 5000 it turns solid red? you can adjust the RPM you wantt he light to turn on or turn it all the way to redline and youll never see it...unless you redline a lot haha
No ****, how do you adjust it? lol
Is the blinking light below the orange letters "REV" in the middle of your gauge cluster? If so, than as posted above, it's the OEM shift light, and you can change the setting.
Press the ODO/trip "stick" for lack of a better word. It will cycle Trip A - Trip B - 5000 The 4 numbers are the RPM the shift light is set to. Press and hold the trip button until the numbers start blinking, then press the button until you get the rpm setting you want, let it set for a few seconds until it stops blinking and you are set. If you disconnect your battery it will reset to 8000, basically disabled at that point.
