Fuel Pump Problems and Codes

Hey guys, so I've been having horrible gas gauge readings since i bought the car (Ive tried the gas gauge Q-tip trick to no avail). The other day I got a service engine soon light so I read the code and it turned out to be P0181. This is the fuel tank temperature sensor. Because it turns on automatically it is not like my tank is overheating. Since i am low on cash I decided to just buy a whole g35 fuel pump assembly, hoping to fix gas gauge weirdness and the sensor obviously. When I searched I saw nothing out there on this code, so I figured I would post about it. Any tips on getting the massive fuel pump all the way out? (ive have trouble getting it to come all the way out). Also it seems like it will be tricky to get the new one in without bending the flapper that floats in the fuel, any tips?
Thanks!

New fuel pump and assembly should be here this weekend. Once I replace I will let you guys know if it's fixed in case any one else experiences the same problem

Just replaced the fuel pump. Took it to the gas station and filled up, that's the first time I've ever read full since owning the car. Also reset the ecu to clear the ses light. It hasn't come back yet, update if it does or if anything happens.
