De-Badging and Re-Painting G35 Emblems

I want to have my G35 and Infiniti logo painted black on the rear of my '04 G35 Diamond Graphite. I also want to remove the I-N-F-I-N-I-T-I. Has anyone done this? Can I do this myself? How much would it cost? Are there DIY instructions?

De-badging is usually done by heating up the solvent (using a heat gun or similar), and using floss to take it off. Remove any excess solvent with goo gone, or a similar cleaner.

As for painting, I would try the local hobby shop, or hardware store? I'm not sure.

So the Infiniti badges are stuck on with adhesive and do not leave holes in the body?

No holes, I did mine myself with dental floss and a good adhesive remover. Be sure the adhesive remover does not have chemicals that will harm the paint and don't buff so much you remove the clearcoat or scratch the paint!

As far as paint, I would personally have a professional paint them!

i did a few tests on some of my badges as for painting them...the chrome plastic doesnt let paint stick very well. BUT the best results came from doing this...

go to auto zone (any auto store) get a SPRAY PLASTIC PRIMER...follow the on can directions...let it sick for however long it says (give it a little more time)....then also purchase the color u want....after the primer has dried spray with the color...let it dry the amount of time suggested plus a lil more, hit it with a second coat if u feel necessary. While at autozone also buy a SPRAY CLEAR COAT. after the paint is fully dry hammer it with that clear coat spray paint let it dry and hit it again with the spray - the clear coat will save ur ***....
its not 100 percent perfect from chipping but i was throwing it on the floor and stuff and it didnt chip - dunno how it will handle under weather conditions but hey its worth a shot and doesnt cost too much.

i suggest trying it first on the emblems that ur gonna remove and never put back on.
i live in new york i am gonna paint all my emblems once the nice weather comes around.

PM if u got any questions - let us know how it works out!

I've seen a few other G35's with black emblems so I know it is possible. I will ask some paint professionals and see what they have to say before I jump into it, but I hope to have it done pretty soon! I will put up some pics after. If anyone else has done this and/or has pics, please show!!!
