Wrecked Coupe

Long time reader, first time poster...

On December 13th I was rear-ended by a Jeep Liberty. It messed up the trunk, bumper, rear drivers side quarter panel etc. but it did not mess up any of the structure, and I was lucky enough that the damage went over top of the trunk floor.

Reason for the post - It is one month later and the bodyshop here in C-Bus still has not received the Quarter Panel; after a freaking month!!

Is it impossibly hard to get parts for our car? I find it hard to believe that it takes longer than a month to even get a part in, let alone getting it put back together.

I just took my coupe into a shop in Dayton to have the rear quarter replaced. There were two things on back order (air bag related) but they got the door and rear quarter in less then a week. (I have a coupe).

Sorry to hear about your accident, I hope all is well.

I can totally relate to what you're saying. Last May, my coupe was rear-ended also, without any chassis/drivetrain damage. The "Infiniti recommended" body shop promised my coupe back within 2 weeks. Long story short, it was actually 42 days. I'd call them 3 times a week just to hear the same old story, "We're waiting on parts, we're waiting on parts."

Hang in there. You'll eventually get the phone call to pick her up. It is agonizing as well as frustrating, I know. I was kind of acting like a Father, after learning that one of his children had been kidnapped. Just an empty/lonely/helpless kind of feeling. All is better now, and you'll be saying the same thing very soon.

Wow, I can definately say that I NEVER wanted to become a member of the 'I had my rear quarter panel replaced' club.....

I guess at least we technically have enough people here to start a support group...

I guess I'll go first:

My name is Kevin and someone Tboned my baby.

And although I've been without it since the beginning of December I know that soon enough I will have it back...

It seems like G's get rear-ended a lot. That's the drawback to having great brakes- the clown driving the SUV behind you won't be able to stop in as short of distance, so they rear-end the G.

If you ask me I think it's because the drivers that hit you guys are stuck in a trance while starring into those LED tail lights. Kinda like a Deer getting caught in the head lights of a car.

The next time you are at a set of lights in the dark... Take your foot off the brake and hit the brakes again.... It's funny to watch the people stopped behind you and their reactions... LOL

Sorry to hear about your babies guys... I am confident they will be back on the road really soon!

Jim Rome is a Tool. Anything but a fan of his. Sorry. The only interview of his I will watch/listen to, is his interview with Chris/Jim Everret. Hilarious!

Sorry to hear of your rear ender.
I've heard this b4 that some parts take a long time. It shouldn't be much longer.
Good luck with the repairs and welcome to our foum.

Our 04 4Runner was hit by a expedition. It took a 1 1/2+ months to get the hinge and something else. *** parts are hard to get in the US i guess.
