Car won'tstart

Less than 1 year on 220 amp alt, yellow top battery. No 'click' from solenoid. Windows, sunroof, radio, lights work. Tried jumpstart. Nothing. Any ideas???

Kinda vague on details, Could you provide more info? Did the car start to run sluggish? Any problems starting it? did the car stall when you drove it? do you have CEL? Did you scan it with a OBD-II scanner to check the codes?

All electronics work. Turn key, dash lights come on, but no engine turning over. Found a dead fuse behind battery for the auto trans. Replaced fuse, car started. Backed into my garage, shut off car. Won't restart. Trans fuse fine. All dash lights come on when I turn the key EXECPT the tran position light {P,N,D}.I hear the fuel pump working, but NO sound from starter. Don't have access to OBD-2 scanner. CEL light flashes 4 times. Tried starting in neutral. Same thing.

Did you check the fuse box by your left foot? Check the fuse underneath the fuse puller. That one should fix the tran position light. Contact your local auto parts store and see if they can scan your car for codes. Also ask them to check your starter and battery.

*Last thing, have you replace your camshaft sensors yet?

Can failed cam sensor cause a no start? The fuse I found blown was in the group located BEHIND the battery.

Yes they can cause a no start at times. During my experience, I didn't know they were going out. First i thought it was the battery. I changed it and same issues. Than i had autozone check my battery and the starter, came back normal working conditions. But it was annoying, cold start it was fine; but after driving it for about ten-fifteen mins, i wouldn't be able to start it during the first try unless i gave it a lil gas. Than finally when they were out, i would stall in the middle of the road, sometimes in traffic. I had it scanned and both sensors were out, replaced them and now she purrs perfect. Two weeks, one of my fuses went out (the fuse underneath the fuse puller). My cluster wasn't working due to it. I thought my cluster was shot and i had to replace it. I did some research and ask a friend. It was a blown fuse. But it caused the Tran position light to go out, wasn't able to view my mph, rpm and gas level. Also, it gave me the "AT Check Light". After I replace the fuse, cluster work and no issues. Scanned the car and it gave me 4 errors, those errors were caused by the blown fuse. Cleared those codes and no issues on my car unless you say 15 mpg in the city and 22 on the hwy is an issue. lol

I think that a wire under the shifter has been rubbed bare an horting out when I put it into Park. I had the shifter console apart for a stereo upgrade and again with a shift boot upgrade. Maybe a wire didn't get put back correctly. I'll pull console tomrrow.

That's your "AT CONT" fuse. I blew mine when installing faulty reverse lights. But you seem to know what the problem may be. Good luck

Last Spring I installed HID reverse lights. After reading the earlier post about problems involving lights and trans fuse, I checked the lights and found that one of the ballast had shorted out (case VERY hot). Took out assembly, put in stock bulb, problem gone! Chinese ballasts,BTW Thanks for asking!
