The way i look at it is this:

You already spent say 30k on the car and over time that 30k turns into only being worth 18k right about now ( going from the year the car was made til how much that year is worth now). Now your going to get another car... trade in will probably be 14k if your lucky. so your 16k in the hole right there. for the amount of upgrades the g37 has. i dont think its worth it. Plus the G35 looks better and like others have said Nissan/Infiniti really cheaped out on the leather.

And the transmission question. Im not sure why the trans would go a year after they changed fluid unless it was so bad that the sludge was holding it together and the clean stuff finally broke threw.

As long as YOU take care the car, the car will take care of YOU! ...well most of the time lol

I just bought my 06 g coupe 6mt, but before I did I was seriously considering an 08 g37s coupe 6mt.

1) They're both great looking cars. I love the curves of the newer body, but I also love the elegance of my 06.

2) The interior of the g37 is much nicer hands down, but there seems to be less headroom by a couple inches.

3) The g37 rode smoother and the turning radius was better, and it felt only slightly quicker.

If it were me, I wouldn't get rid of the g yet. It's done most of it's depreciating already so I'd hold on to it for a few more years and get more mileage out of it then upgrade once the g37's come down in price a little more. They're already nearing 23k, couple more years they'll be at 20k or less!

Keep it. Do a drain and fill (fresh fluides) to your tranny every 15k at this point to keep it maintained. Add a tranny cooler if you are in high temp conditions. After tranny cooler then go for a supercharger. It never ends...

I personally would not sell my 35 for a 37 either. I have also contemplated in either getting a 35 or a 37 when i was looking for a g but i feel in love with the G because of the body style then the 37, plus there is not much of a engine improvement in the 37s in the first place. Plus you already invested your time and money into the G keep it and see how it turns out

ive gone back and forth about getting rid of my 35 for a g37 or a 370z

ive had my car for 4 years now, 05 coupe with 88k miles on the chassis, 50k miles on a used motor i had to buy when my motor went (and it was my own cash SMH), doesnt even include the 9 thousand in mods that ive put into and im not even FI lol, it all adds up. Basically comes down to, if you wanna loose out on all the money u put into your current ride. I decided to keep mines longer, the 35 does look better, i just wanted the 37 to get a MT. I will probably end up getting a 370z in like 2 or 3years, unless i can afford what i really want a cadillac cts v sedan the supercharged one

Thumbs up

I just bought a '08 g37s coupe w/25k miles 6spd manual and i had many g35 coupes in the past (our shop specializes in them lol) but anyways now that i bought this g37 its nice and all just quality is not the same as a g35 coupe but if i was you id just keep your g35 coupe and just add another car to ur garage like that g37.

If you use the OC issue as a way of justifying an upgrade, you'll probably be in the same boat very soon.

I love my 35. The lines are so clean. The 37 is too soft looking (they did toughen it up for the 11 or 12 MY but I am not sure when the sport package was refreshed for them).

go for the 37. I just sold my 05 coupe 6mt and got a 07G35s sedan. Even tho is a sedan (interior is pretty much the same just more room) you can never compared the interior of the G37 with the outdated interior on a g35 coupe. I had all the mods you have on your G and the sedan still faster completely stock (and I have 306hp vs 330hp on the 37). Now if you sell your coupe is better if you part out. I made an extra $1,500 by parting out. Remember a lot of people go by the book price so you wont get the money of the mods back.

Test drove the 37S, and yeah, it's faster, but I wasn't really that thoroughly impressed compared to my 35 coupe.

It didn't wow me enough to consider trading my G35 in for one.

The positive improvements are the interior feel and finish, and a serious improvement in the stock stereo. But from an enthusiast standpoint, I feel like the 37 doesn't have as much of a road feel as the 35 does. It seems like Nissan moved further away from sporty and more toward luxury with the G37.

OP, it's your decision, but if I were in your shoes, I'd keep my G35 and have fun modifying it.
