Drift???
So I've always been real interested in drifting ever since i had my last car (1997 Nissan Quest) haha. I would neutral drop and do hard turns in that car.
I now have a 2005 G35 Coupe but unfortunately its a 5AT + Sequential.
What I'm asking is, how do i drift? I know i cant turn it hard and gas it; but are there any mods i can do to my parking break that'll help me drift easier? It has 4wheel ABS so idk if thats a problem.
HELP!!

I'm gonna try REALLLLLL hard not to flame you. So, that aside, find some local drift events in your area so you can LEARN HOW TO DRIFT if that's what you so chose to do.
Secondly, go over to my350z.com and do some research. Not a lot of members here drift and ones that do rarely post anything about it. LOT more information over there. And since our cars are almost identical, you can apply a lot of what THEY do to our cars.
hope that helps.

I consistently drift my car(empty parking lots late at night w/o endangering anyone), but in an automatic there's only two ways to do it. Power slide it, as in turn harder than your tires can grip resulting in the tail sliding out, or downshifting and turning hard.
Keep in mind both of these methods will only allow you to "kinda" drift as you will slide but your tires will grip after 4-5 seconds unless you do donuts or some other oval shape.

Why did you buy an automatic to begin with if you really wanted to drift. If you try hard enough to drift (plenty of neutral drops), eventually your transmission will let go and you can replace it with a 6MT.

So in the search for searching for a new car for me, i searched for manual transmissions. I've only driven manual transmission twice but i was pretty good at it but not confident. My mom didn't want Manual because she doesn't want to learn and drive it. So, I searched and we found a 2006 Subaru Wrx. We brought along a close friend (car mechanic) who can confidently drive the manual tranny car. In the midst of test driving the car, he crashes it through a wall. So i was basically forced into buying an automatic.
Get ready for story time.

drifting of course lol
lol. this is hilarious.
You CAN drift autotranny Z/G's. but feint (power over or power slide) is the only way unless you install a hydro brake (which is a completely different can of worms). It's just not the ideal setup as it's hard to maintain high rpms in a car that shifts for you.
that said. we need more info on the wall crash and I need more info on this "I'm sharing the car with my mom" nonsense. Everything about it sounds like GT5 or Forza3/4 is your best bet. lol
