That's just the rear axle click problem. This happens on just about all G35's at some point. There is a Technical Service Bulletin that addresses this issue and you can get it fixed free of charge at the dealer if your vehicle is still under the power-train warranty... which, for your car, being an '06 may still be applicable.

I had mine fixed on my car several years ago and it hasn't come back. The G35x that they gave me as a loaner car while they worked on my car also made the noise. My car is a 6MT, so it only did it for me whenever I was first loading the drivetrain, such as beginning to accelerate from a dead stop. It got quite noticeable just before I had it fixed.

No... not unless you paid extra for an extended warranty or you were the second owner of the car and purchased it from someone who bought a transferable extended warranty. The factory powertrain warranty is 6-year/70K miles (whichever comes first).

Here's the tip, go to your dealer and have him diagnose the problem, and have him note that the issue is related to ITB. Call/or send email to Infiniti Consumer Service and most likely they will authorize the repair free of charge per the ITB- regardless of your warranty limitation. IMHO

Thanks found out today that its the rear axel and all the need to be done really is for it to be greased, not a big problem

Just want to say thanks! The advice on this board is great!
I did the service bulletin recommendation to mine, and it's fine now. It took me about 90 minutes, and that was because I didn't use my air tools. I had time, and went slow. Only hassle was being careful with the boots near the sway bar.
