About to get a 2005 G35 coupe...
Oil consumption is not that bad, at all. And even if it does consume a lot of oil, it's not that bad to deal with. I had the RX8 (rotary engine) and the newest Audi A4 (turbo) and both had supposedly HORRIBLE oil consumption issues...I just had to refill my oil every 6 weeks or so instead of the typical 12 weeks. So far, my 2005 6MT has yet to drink oil at as fast a rate as my A4 or my RX8.
However, my window motors and door locks have both gone out after 3 months of owning my 2005, and those are a pain to deal with. My seat controls have yet to give me problems (knock on wood).
Wow, I'm sorry to hear that...best of luck on the process!

Actually buying it from a friend. He's dropped on S-techs. Believe he has a camber kit on the rears too. Thanks for the help. I'm really just looking into any possible major mechanical problems or whatnot.
Haha thanks for the offer but I'll have to pass. I used to have a Z but I'm tired of driving manual and need something more comfortable to drive. Besides, I'm getting a killer deal and I'm already getting rid of my boosted TC so I don't care about speed anymore. And before anyone talks mess, it wasn't the fastest thing but 298whp was good enough speed for me
Could you explain the main reasons why?
11 years and 5 cars that have all been manual with Houston traffic, yeah I want something more comfortable.
