Perils of too much oil?

Hello.

05 51k on the clock 6sp

5W-30 full synthetic

I read on the web too much will actually cause less lubrication because it is 'whipped up'. I live in Phoenix, Az. Temps here have been running ~112F. Will this cause stress on the engine or its components?

Thanks!

The VQ engines have a deep oil pan sump and windage tray. It would take several extra qts to cause windage issues which is not relevant for a street car.

Another concern is possible crankshaft seal leakage.

If you were tracking the car with a modified/ boosted engine than crankshaft windage would be an issue for proper oiling and loss of horsepower.

Thanks. The oil is just under the 1st 'kink' above the 'H' on the dipstick.

As far as crankshaft seal leakage, will the oil leak out because there is too much but then once the level is proper then the crankshaft seal leakage will stop?

Thanks again.
