Again, no autozones here. Even if there was an autozone or different store its way way expensive. We are talking $15 to $20 a quart. That's $75-100 in just oil without the filter. Just like everything else in the UK, things are not cheap. Also, if you have an oil consuming G that means you'd be using a lot more quarts at those prices as well. So if you guys had the choice to buy GC at those prices would you? Or would you go with the Mobil 1 0w-40, Pennzoil Platinum, or Castrol (Made in USA) oil priced at $6.50 to $8.00.

When I read the spec sheets from the Castrol site it talked about the USA line up of Castrol products. Could the new (Made in the USA) 0w-30 be the same as the GC that everyone is using? The specs look the same so that's why I'm asking. Thanks for you all the posts.
i would do PP (pennzoil platinum 5w-30) out of those..
if your car burned too much with PP.. i would go 0w-40 M1

But would these wear patterns be similar in different motors? Anybody know? I would assume they would be the same.

Wear patterns would be similar between VQ35DEs, but not necessarily similar to other engines.

OK, let me clarify my question a bit more: Would the difference in the wear patterns between the different oils be similar if we got results from other motors?

I don't believe so just based on reading UOAs from G35s and G37s. You could always read and pull data the UOAs on the BITOG forums
