I would think so. I would also think that it would cause the car to idle rough-ish, or feel sluggish. But I've seen weirder things.
Then again, when you're in higher RPMs, a car will usually run smooth unless something is severely damaged.. We had the same issue with our '66 Mustang until we rebuilt the carb. It wouldn't idle worth a damn, but would run like a top at higher RPMs.

Just my 0.02.... I had what I thought was my headgasket blown. I had white smoke, what I thought was an extreme coolant smell and was losing coolant but couldn't find a leak. Spent crazy money to replace headgasket and still had problem. Finally one day I saw a dribble of coolant which looked like it was coming from the oil pan and in a matter of days it was pooring out.... Finally found out it was the waterpump. Replaced that and now that I'm digging deeper I think I have a faulty injector causing me to run extremely rich. Haven't had time to check them out yet but soon will. What I thought to be an extreme coolant smell was really gas. Moral of the story just keep checking and start with the simplest things before you dig deep into a head gasket. Also never put that gasket sealer in your car. It will cause way more problems than you ever dreamed of

i checked my spark plugs 2 see if i had oil on them, and good thing they didn't. They were clean. I use Castro 0w30. I haven't driven the car so i dont know if the coolant is getting lower. but i did turn it on and the exhaust have water. and i guess it does smell like coolant. i was wondering if i can buy a gasket sealer kit from Auto zone. see if that helps. Thanks

k guys. i really appreciate all the help i been getting here. so many of u were correct. I decided to change my oil. Oil came out blk but it didn't look like other times i have changed it. looked milkish like MADTin had said. I changed the filter 2. I stated the car and let it warm up for like 15 mins and saw that my anti-freeze had drop also. before it wouldn't. I also saw that my anti-freeze had some oil. So now im wondering what I should do first? thanks

Finding water in your oil, blown head gasket but that doesn't mean you need to replace the motor. Have a qualified mechanic replace the head gasket, change oil several time within the next 1K miles you should be alright. I had this happen on a Vette, replaced the head gasket and proceeded to put 180K on the engine without issues....Gary

I've been in the same boat where I had to replace my motor and headgasket on the g and it's def not cheaper to replace the motor. Replacing the motor I spent roughly 3500 maybe more including clutch and flywheel. Replacing the headgasket takes some searching because alot of local shops wouldn't even touch it cause of the wrk involved. I found somebody semi local who did the job for 850 and who specializes in these motors. Make sure u go to somebody with experience with these cars because the shop that did my shop didn't know **** about them and I'm still trying to work out issues. Good luck
