Can I use 75-80 instead of 75w-80 or 90 transmission fluid?
Hey guys,
I have the Nissan OEM tranny fluid and was given the 75w-80 fluid. I've used it, but I see that I'm supposed to be using the the 75w-85 weight tranny fluid. It seems alot of people are using aftermarket 75w-90 so there seems to be a bigger difference from 90 to 80 in that regard. What I'm worried about is the second number in the formula. If its anything like oil, then its like comparing a 5w-30 to a 5w-25 if they had one. Seems like the viscosity would not be up to spec, but would this cause issues. If so, what kind of issues could I have. Thanks for your help.
