car cranks, but won't start

this 2004 automatic trans G35 is cranking but won't start. There is a warning light on the dash, AT, which indicates an automatic transmission issue.
Anybody have any suggestion before I have the car towed to the mechanic?

Check you battery first. If not than check you fuse box by your parking brake. If a fuse is out underneath the fuse puller, it will usually give you that warning light. If you have a scanner, scan the car for codes to get a better diagnostic before taking it to a certified mechanic.

Cranks fast, so I don't think its the battery. I am going out now and take a look at the fuse box. I was wondering if I unplug the battery might do something.
Thanks

Switched out a spare fuse with the engine fuse and that helped.
Interestingly the bad fuse looks fine, I was expecting to see a broken link or a smoked look to the bad fuse.

Replacing the engine fuse (10a) with the spare fixed the problem for a few days. Now it won't start again and I am sure that if I go in and replace the fuse it will run again. It must be a short of some sort, but I am not sure because it runs for a while. It sat for the whole weekend, except when I moved out of the garage momentarily. This morning, the wife tried to start it, but no go Cranks just fine but no ignition. Its interesting, this happened last Monday. Something about Mondays?

Fuse apparently okay. When I got home, the first thing I did was to see if it would start, and sure enough it started. That morning the wife said it wouldn't start. Not a reliable car at this point.
Don't have a code reader.
