If you add a magnaflow X pipe, it gets rid of the rasp and and lowers the sound a little but makes the exhaust deeper.

I had that plus berks hi flow cats and it sounded like a soda can on a bicycle tire. Took it off within a few weeks. Didn't want to do the x-pipe and it still sound god awful.

Infiniti included a nice exhaust when they made your G, why would you want to replace it with a $200 POS? These systems will leak, sound awful and eventually rust and fall off due to the thin wall pipe. Save your $$ and if you want to change the sound of your exhaust buy something worthy....Gary

will the magnaflow x pipe bolt right in or does it need to be welded?

Ummm...don't worry about whether it would need to be welded. Buy something decent or kick yourself in the azz later.

I bought the car with one of those replica HKS exhaust on there and the first thing I did before even driving it under my ownership was to replace the exhaust with the stock exhaust which came with the sale. Couldnt have hated it more. Felt like a civic with a fart cannon

i have this exhaust sounds great till about 6krpm but the x pipe will fix it 200 is a great price the x pipe will run another 87$ plus 30-50 installed and youll have a decent exhaust with decent gains for no more than 400 with the other 600 or so if you would buy a expensive 1 get a spacer ,some tp's, or maybe gears but overall its a decent exhaust just make sure its in good condition i got mine for 400$installed brand new

That's my video I did a while back.

That was before the x-pipe. To be honest, It didn't sound all that bad, but at the same time, I wasn't too fond of the sound either. Also, it has held up well over time. It's been through rain, snow and has been banged up. The streets in Italy isn't forgiving at all. I have a brand new Motordyne TDX2 sitting in storage, but it would just get banged up here. I could care less what happens to my $300 exhaust. It got banged up on the way to Italy by the shipping carrier from SoCal and hasn't leaked.

Sounds a lot better with the x-pipe, ART pipes and OEM 350z tips. Now that I look at it, I would ride around without the x-pipe at the least.

The only exhaust I would spend over $1k on is Motordyne.
