Looking at an '05 G coupe, need some help.
I found a 2005 diamond graphite G35 coupe with 78,000 miles and I'm trying to do some research before i go take a look and maybe shoot an offer. The car is at a small used lot around town. Their website has a car fax report on it that looks good, no disputes on milage, lots of service records, 2 owners, no crashes etc etc. The bad i have seen is the front bumper has a dent down low in it probably from a curb or similar and the drivers seat has a tear on the side bolster. On another note it has after market wheels (Tenzo i think) and an aftermarket exhaust (top speed pro 1). They want 16,995 for it. With all that in mind what should i consider offering, taking all that into account. Any help would be appreciated
Thanks
I just noticed i posted this in the wrong place, sorry!

You posted in the right area. That might just be me, but I'd say the pricing for any car varies depending on your area. Check out some other ones nearby and average out the prices to get a general idea. Then based on how badly you want it, how many are available for you to even buy, and the amount of money you're willing to spend, go from there. I got my '06 for about $24K before interest last year with 36K miles. Low miles + a year I wanted = sold. So I think it really depends on how much you have and how badly you want it. Me personally, I would try to talk them down because it's poorly modified and has likely "been raced". Cars are usually always worth more when they're stock. Anyway, I hope this somewhat helps.
By the way, is it a 6MT?

Price is a bit high, but like said above it depends on where you're located.
In June I paid roughly $16k for an 05 Coupe AT with all the goodies with 59K miles.
Since I've had it... I realized the window motors aren't 100%, water leaks thru if I goto a carwash.
Check the paint, it's known to be awful on these cars... so look where it's chipped or scuffed to see how bad it the condition is carefully.
And turn on the a/c to full, a lot of people notice a weird smell coming from the vents... there are ways to fix it but apparently it's happend quite a bit. Mine has since gone away because I just don't use the a/c that often.

Unless you live on the moon $17K is too high for a '05 with 70K miles on it's clock, especially one that has damage. Offer them $11,5 and point out all the areas that need to be fixed, and that's just what you can see. If they make a counter offer tell them, $12K is all you're willing to pay for a Infiniti that need several thousand in repairs with that kinda mileage....walk away!
