Hey guys,
I saw this over at Techbargains... was wondering if anyone had any experience with this? It's ONLY $35... so might be a cheap toy to play with. FREE ground shipping AND no tax outside Cali.
I know the newer models are out (SS & RR), but this is just so darn cheap!! It retails for $139.

Any input would be appreciated...

Looks shady. I mean, with a timer and a position instrumentation device (like gps) you can calculate some of those values. Add a G meter and input the approx. weight of the car and you can approx. horsepower numbers, but 0-60? How does it know you got to 60? How does it know how far you've traveled?
Looks like a gimmick to me.
Well, I know people with the "newer" SS or RR models of the GTech... so it's definitely NOT a gimmick!
My question was more whether anyone has one of these older models... and whether it's worth my $35... I just don't feel like forking out $200 for the newer models right now, and thought this is a steal. Like I said, it's just a toy... and was wondering if anyone has experience with it.

I never did get one, but G-tech seems to be legit. It uses dynamometers and senses rpms through noise in the cars electrical system to extrapolate hp, torque, acceleration, Gs etc. It's not dead on accurate, but it can give you a good idea.
Some forum members have them. There was a big group buy a while back. The one being sold here seems to be an older discontinued model though.
