Tires!!!!!!!
Tires!!!!!!!
Whats up guys,
So i need to get a new set of tires for my stock 2003 rims. I currently have the toyo proxes 4 all season. I really want to get the BFG T/A KDW's, they are summer tires and with winter coming up I'm slightly concerned. I was just wondering if it would be a bad idea to get the BFG's or just go with the toyo's again.
Also, if you guys have any suggestions on other tires i should buy that would be great.

depending on how severe winter is in your area this ranges from a bad idea to a really bad idea. Get all seasons or snows. I know what its like to be on new summer tires in the winter and it's scary regardless of how slowly and carefully you drive
I just got a set of Nitto Motivo's for my '04 Coupe about 2 months ago. So far, they seem great. They're an all-season performance tire, and that was the conclusion I came down to after researching a tire that I could run all year. I probably wouldn't try to use them in deep snow or anything, but then again, I don't even drive my car once the snow starts... so it's not an issue for me.
Get an extra set of winter wheels and tires. I'm sure you can find a set on eBay, Craig's list or the forum for cheap if you look long enough. Much better than all season if you plan to drive all winter.
For an all-season I'd recommend looking into the Continental ExtremeContact DWS or the General G-Max AS-03. Both of those tires are the most requested all-seasons we sell. For summer performance I'd recommend looking at Hankook Ventus V12 evo K110s or Michelin Pilot Super Sports, if your budget allows for them.

They definitely are great tires. To date they're the favorite ones I've run. Right now I'm on FK452s and they're kind of noisy and tramline like crazy!
I've had the FK452's as well. And yeah, they are noisy lol.
im planning on getting some new tires too soon before winter hits, im most likley gonna go with some ALL SEASON tires so i dont have to keep on spending money lol, whats the best tire size i can run that will give it a nice mean staggered look without the rub, im riding on stock 18's, would love some mean all season tires
What I do like about the Falkens over the Hankooks though is the sidewall stiffness. In my opinion the Hankooks have way too soft of a sidewall.
why is there a "help me pick tire" thread every 3 days. tired of seeing these. There's so many different tires because different people need different things out of tires.
Someone, like maybe the tire-rack rep should post a tire buying FAQ and get it stickied.

check out the vredestein sessanta. You get all the grip (wet and dry) without the drawbacks of noise and soft sidewalls at a very competitive price.
They also wear out ridiculously fast. I don't even drive that hard and I blew through a set of FK452's in 15K miles. They are really good performing street tires though while they last. Great grip, even in cold and wet (not snow though). I also found that my FK452's were very prone to premature dry rotting in comparison to other tires I've owned, despite never using any tire shine/cleaner type chemicals on them.
