I just ordered a magnaflow part for my hks replica exhaust and should be getting it next week. I'm excited to see the results. Gonna take it to be done in a shop.

 

The purpose of the Magnflow x-pipe was replacing the crossover in the authentic HKS systems due to it's restriction! What makes you think you need an x-pipe in your knock off system? For the cost of the x-pipe and installation you wasted your $$ since you'll see few gains....Gary

I have the same, x pipe and x02, cut away most drone and in cabin drone and brought the VQ tone back. I felt embarrassed to have the replica prior to the xpipe. I have herd the authentic hks with the same magnaflow xpipe and didn't like the way it sounded, the larger diameter piping is well worth the "risk" of having a replica.

The X-Pipe also equalize back pressure from side to side, making the "flow" more efficient, as well power seems to have been moved from midrange to low band.

 

I actually have one on an invidia Gemini for my fx. Cut out most of the drone.

 

The xpipe made a huge difference in sound and made the car bearable to drive with this exhaust.

Eventually will upgrade to the genuine HKS one. But since I already have the knock off one right now, just gonna do this mod cause of less expenses.

 

I did it with just a simple x pipe (Not Magnaflow), and had it installed after the resonators and it cut off the drone and rasp but I haven't heard the magnaflow one in person but my guess is that one is better, since u replace the old ones. Maybe il get the magnaflow one day.
