Talking Stock Nav - Should I or Shouldn't I?

This may or may not be a silly question... But would it be hard to put in the Stock Nav system after the fact? I looking into this only because I have a line on one super cheap and was wondering if anyone has any advice or feedback...

Be nice, just wondering... ---> LOL

You mean buy a car not equiped with the navigation and then install a OEM one by yourself? that's a pain in the *** to do...just order it with it....

As far as I know, you can't install the stock navi into a non navi G. At least the dealership won't be able to do it for you. Good luck. Love my NAVI though, anybody that could afford it, should get it.

There was a thread about this (with pics) on freshalloy probably 4 months ago if my memory serves me right. Yes, it is possible to do, but is VERY time consuming and difficult and expensive. There's a bunch of wiring harnesses and it's much harder to do than say, doing the mod so you can watch DVD's on the Nav which I did to my G. It took them at least 10 hours of work to install it into his G.

There are a variety of aftermarket navs, screen, systems that a a little less expensive tho. To put the Navi in a non navi car you have to buy a new A/c unit and a few other things it will cost well over the 2k price off sticker. Many people dont see the need for it and it makes the car a bit less.. BUT, almost everyone I have ever talked to has regretted not getting it. It's all up to you. The stock Navi looks the best but i dont suggest getting a NEW car without it. If you have a used one, low miles, good price, no nav, i would consider getting it without the NAV.
