Need advise on fluids

Okay I've been searching the forums for hours trying to put together a list of what all I need to basically change all my fluids (the important ones anyway). My list so far is royal purple 5w30 with wix filter, Nissan matic s trans fluid but how much do I need? I have high miles and don't have maintainance records so I've gathered that I should just do a partial drain and fill with about 4 quarts? Is that accurate? Next on the list is diff fluid maybe amsoil 75w90? How much do I need? Do I need anything else? Power steering fluid flush maybe? Any advise would be appreciated!

You can do better than royal purple for the oil. Its overpriced and overrated.

I use BG Ultraguard in my diff, though you cant go wrong with Amsoil. Can't remember how many qts to fill but the FSM should be able to get you accurate quantities of everything.

If you're 5AT definitely stick with Nissan fluid for the transmission.

Anybody happen to know how many quarts are needed for the diff? And also is it 4 quarts to do a partial drain an fill on the trans? I'll probably end up going with Mobil 1 in the diff because I don't know where to buy the amsoil ill have to search around and see what I can find. Merry Christmas everyone!

Great choice on filters, WIX can't be beat!

AMSOIL can easily be found by using Google for a dealer near you! Royal Purple is good synthetic but for some reason not in our VQ motors. This comes from reading a gazillion posts here on DRIVER and members opinions. Use only the best fluids, your coupe will appreciate it! A drain & fill should be good enough, don't forget the radiator fluid....Gary

Thanks guys, so 2 quarts for the rear diff and 4 quarts to drain and fill the trans. Is 5w30 the best weight to use for engine oil and what's better than royal purple for the engine? Is amsoil the best?

That's my opinion....^....and you're using WIX filters, it doesn't get much better. Living in the south-west 5W30 is your best choice for synthetic....Gary

That's what I use, no issues. First time I changed my oil and bought a K&N filter and having looked at it I asked the counter person, "Where's the rest of it?" I was used to looking at the filters for my wife's Vette. With the AMSOIL synthetic oil and gear oil for the differential you might even find a shop using Google that uses it. Or a dealer where you can pick up what you need without having it mailed to you....Good Luck & Merry Christmas!

Has anyone used the AC Delco PF2057 filter? I assume it would be similar quality as the wix/purolator right?

First mistake is assuming anything, I seriously doubt if it has the same quality as WIX or K&N. More likely the same quality as Nissan which isn't good enough for SLICK!

I have been using Castrol for the oil, Mobil syn in the diff, and OEM tranny oil. Had good results with that combination

I did a lot of research on the best fluids for the car before draining and filling at 60k and my baby feels amazing.

Differential: Amsoil (2.2 qts, so I bought 3)
Transmission: Nissan OEM (MTF in my 6MT)
Engine: Amsoil 5w30
Coolant: OEM
Power Steering: Mobil 1 Ultra, Dex III
Brakes: Dot 4 Ultra Blue
Clutch: Dot 4 Ultra Blue

Oil Filter: Purelator PureOne

It's either OEM or Amsoil. I only used Mobil 1 for the PS because I needed one quickly and couldn't get Amsoil OTC, but I think I will switch it at some point. I'll probably switch my filter at some point as well.

I'm hoping to get a quick answer since I'm about to go pick up the fluid but can anyone confirm how many quarts a drain and fill for the 5at transmission takes?

I think you're thinking of a transmission flush. A drain and fill is different
