Close I believe that is actually the new Chevy Chevelle. (Which shares the platform with the GTO). The shape of the trunk and rear deck, is classic chevelle. I know, because I have a 68' Chevelle.

There were some pictures in Hot Rod magazine, from a few months ago. I can't remember when it's scheduled for introduction tho....

Those were my thoughts exactly. That rear shot brought the late 60's SS Chevelle to mind and with the double striping to boot.

I second on the Chevelle (or old Malibu of the same generation.....maybe around '70?). Trunk and rear lights are classic Chevelle, but the trunk is much deeper than I'm used to seeing.

Yeah,I've actually never saw the back end of the new chevelle. I only saw pictures of the front. IIRC, it's much more aggressive on the front than the GTO is, as I remember people saying the front end of the chevelle should've been the front end of the GTO. I don't know about that tail though. The bumper is a little big. I prefer the shorter/skinnier tail-lights, like on my 68 Chevelle. I guess it's also wierd picturing a chevelle without any chrome....

 

Chevelle? Why does that keep bringing up the ugly Cadillac Deville!? .. >.< Oh yes, they're both ugly... that must be it.
