On the hunt for a G35 - some questions

Hello everyone, my name's Dani and I'm new to the forum. I'm so glad there's a dedicated community for our beloved car.

I've been driving for close to 2 years now everyday (thanks to work) and have gathered the very much needed experience to handle this beast of a car.

1. How is the insurance gonna look like? I'll be registered as an occasional driver under my parents so it'll be substantially lower than having it on my name of course.
2. I'm on the look for a G35 ('04-'06) and the km's range vastly at the market, what is the "limit" I should be looking for when it comes to km's? Is 220k too high?
3. When looking into purchasing the car what should I look out for? What should I ask? Any known problems?
4. When test driving, should I do anything particular to spot out problems? (automatic)
5. Is there any other way to spot out an abused car except heavy mods or "douche-looking"?

Lastly, my standards are quite high and specific (unfortunately lol), I'm looking for a '04-'06 ('03 if very attractive) black G35 coupe AT (no spoiler, for the love of god it looks so bad imo) and a bonus would be the nav system, and some decent under 200k km's around $8-10k. If any of you know of someone selling please let me know.

Thanks in advance and happy to join the community. Hopefully I'll have my own G35 to brag about!

Dani

Questions, use our SEARCH function....it works!

Buying a G35 is like any other car. Find the lowest mileage coupe within your budget and get a CARFAX so you're not buying a bone yard rebuild. Next thing is maintenance records, that's always a plus to know how the car has been maintained/treated. There's nothing wrong with mods, actually most are upgrades! Good Luck!
