Ball joint or control arm bushing?

Very sad to say, but in January I hit a curb with my G. No I wasn't drunk, trying to drift, or speeding. I was actually going under the speed limit. Anyways, there was a boat load of work done on it. It was about $9,400 in damage... How it didn't get totaled, I have no idea. But a few months and tears later, I have her back. It has been about a month or so, and now it sounds like my ball joint is shot. I tried to look it up on here, but all I could find is control arm bushing problems. And my symptoms don't match up to that so I think it is my ball joint. But I would rather not assume. So here is what it does. When I break hard there is "popping" or "clicking" coming from the left front tire. It also happens when I turn really hard when it is cold out. doesn't happen often when its warm. Also if I turn my wheel all to the right, it doesn't come back to the center. Ball joint or not?

Find a reliable brake/alignment shop in your area!

Glad you got your ride back Slime! There only one way to find out what needs to be replaced, you need to get your G on a rack. That's the only way you can figure out what's worn or broken. I was having popping noises from my front end and I needed to replace my control arms. The bushings fell out when they were removed....not good. Good Luck!
