What do i need?

Hey guys,

I have a stock '04 G35c 5at. Im looking to break into the 13's with as little mods as possible.

I took my car up to the track last fall and managed a 14.6@98mph. Now i got this time without launching the car (it was 40 degrees outside and the tires wouldn't grip). So im thinking with better weather, i can actually launch the car and hit at least 14.4's.

So my question is what do i need to break into the 13.9's??
Would a Z-tube/popcharger, and Y-pipe be enough??

You will need atleast one of the following:
1. A prayer & corresponding miracle
2. Gullable people or,
3. A ****load of mods, INCLUDING a SC kit.

Sorry for not givin you enough info...but I know it can be done street legal too, so goodluck.

no an intake and y pipe arent enough. Mod your car: Intake, Grounding Kit, Plenum, Headers, Exhaust. Assuming you get good traction and good 60' That should get you into the high 13's.

Thanks for the help... I didn't realize that it would cost so much to knock .5 secs off my 1/4 Well i suppose i'll take it step by step. I guess i'll start with the intake and grounding kit. Then maybe a y-pipe and plenum.

Grounding kits will not shave any time off of your 1/4 mile time. You want to focus on "breathing mods" and "Rotational weight reduction".

Breathing mods: High flow cats, plenum, intake, headers, ported heads, cams, etc.

Reduced rotational weight: Under drive pulley, lightened flywheel (and racing clutch), lighter wider rims and tires, etc...

You may even want a set of racing slicks. If you do all of the above you might break into the low 13's. If anyone doubts this, Doug, owner of Crawford Z Car, has a near 300rwhp 350Z that doesn't have the pulley, flywheel or racing slicks that is out dynoing a 2002 E46 M3. 100% NA mods my friend!!! Here's the link... Doug @ Crawford's vs 2002 E46 M3 6SP

After you get the mods you want installed you should consider the Techno Square ECU. Guys are getting pretty good results with this mod.
