Warranty question

Could someone tell me if changing the intake plenum will void my warranty? (I'm sure this has been discussed before but I could not find by doing a search.)

i believe so... i believe warranty is based on this: if you add an aftermarket part, it will void the warranty for the part(s) directly affected by it (i.e. intake plenum directly affects the engine), BUT don not quote me on this, although i am almost certain it works like this

just swap it out for the stock one if you have any problems.

i think the general consensus is if the dealer can prove that your aftermarket part(s) caused a failure, then any associated repairs will NOT be covered by the warranty. of course, if you are fortunate enough to work with a dealer that is receptive to aftermarket parts, they may make an exception. if you install the plenum and run into problems, i would recommend replacing the aftermarket with the factory plenum before the dealer looks at it.

Yes it will void the warranty for any part that is or can be affected by the aftermarket part. Yup this is why I don't wanna do a UR pulley. The plenum you can swap out easy if you have any issues the pulley you can't.
