Are you sure you didn't get a USA g with Canadian lights? I know you have to do rewiring for them to work on a Canadian G with a DRL. Also are you talking about the small city light (194) DRL or the H1 "fog" drl that comes on at half power/6V?

If it works on remote start, its obviously not a fuse. It has to be a wiring issue somewhere. Are you 100% sure the headlights weren't modified, or 100% sure if your G is American or Canadian?

 

I believe if you tape over the sensors the car will think that it is night time and it will put all your lights on (ie projectors). Did you do any modifications to your headlights?
