Homelink: Finding a specific adaptor to control a lamp.

Hey people!

I was wondering if anyone has bought any type of adaptor to turn on a lamp/appliance using Homelink.

I've tried 2 types of remote control appliance adaptors from Radio Shack and pretty sure I set it up correctly with the Homelink buttons in my car. And nothing.

Anyone know of specifc models to try? There are some places up on the Homelink website to purchase from, but I would rather go to a concrete store than order online.

Thanks!

What kind of lamp did you plug in? I know with my home automation stuff, they are finicky if I plug in something with a ballast, like my florescent lights.

different modules (for any of this kind of stuff) can be confusing.
Some are simple relay, some are picky and (labeled) as resistive or inductive loads.

Also range can be an issue, if the control is from you car to the module, how far, what's in the way, etc. can present problems
