Wiper issues..

I just got my 05 6MT a lil over a week ago. Its been raining here in Nor Cal for the last few days. I had a chance to try out the wipers. One problem though. When I press UP to wipe for example. The wiper would do a good job, but when the blade comes down, it leaves additional water on my windshield, what gives? This is by far the worst wiper system I've seen out of all the cars I have been in. So with a single wipe, it doesn't clean the windshield completely flawless of water. Does this happen to anybody else? This is in terms of slight rainy condition only.

I don't think its the wiper itself, but something is splashing unwanted water on my car after the blade comes down after a wipe. When I was in heavy rain yeterday on the 205 freeway around Tracy. I didn't feel so safe, seem like you could hear every single heavy drop of rain on top and around you. Weird..but oh wells.

I noticed that too. Is it only on your passenger side? On mine, I noticed if there isn't very much water, and if you're driving at a certain speed, the wind will cause the water to run up the driver's side blade instead of down, and this water then sprays onto the passenger side of the window.

I just live with it, because it's not a big deal.I get more irritated by other cars I've driven before where the washers are functionally useless by design, or wipers that get stuck in the up position, etc.

i noticed the same thing with my 03 coupe too. it's not much water though. also, i think it only occurs with the first couple wipes where perhaps the wipers were covered with raindrops. after that, it's all good.

I've noticed that when my wiper comes back down , it leaves a "streak " of water from the tip of blade..this happens on the drivers side of course ! any thoughts anyone ?

Probably time for new windshield wiper blades. They are only good for maybe 1 year in FL. The extreme temps and amount of usage the blades get, you're actually lucky to go beyond 6 months.

I had the same problem. The solution:

Mount garden hose, with mister, on top of car. Activate to approximate desire rain con dition. Test wiper. Carefully (slightly) bend wiper blade parts to correct condition. Retest. Repeat until fixed. Mine is now perfect - worth the effort.
