I really hate looking at the weatherstripping (I believe its called) it looks nasty and I was wondering if it was possible to be replaced.

 

Yes it can be removes n replaced. U can plasti dip it.

 

Do you know what exactly the part is called or part#? I would rather change it out if the cost if right.

This is the area you're looking at on the car- but frankly I'm not sure if that part you're talking about qualifies as part of the "body side welt" or if that is for the whole door. By the looks of it the specific trim piece that we're looking at is separate-

Anyway, gets you in the ballpark. I'm still sort of looking through various areas for that specific piece...

i think you can just use that tire shine stuff to make it shiny again if you want. Obviously mask your car before you do it though.

 

I tries multiple products to clean it but remains the same. Thanks to Phil here in the forums I was about to find the right parts. They are a bit pricey and am thinking about plasti dipping them for now.

You should be able to buff that clean. I usually spend a good amount of time/effort cleaning that area of my car whenever I wash it. It tends to look like yours after a winter of sitting outside (no garage), but when I wash and scrub it good, it cleans up nice and shiny! You can even hit it with some Meguiars Back-To-Black to make it a little more vibrant if you're really concerned about its lustrous appearance.

 

I you can try just get some 3m black vinyl too. Should be easier to apply since you dont have to ask out anything and easier to take off later.

 

Back to black might fix that right back up for you, I know many of our members have very high praise of that product for jobs similar to this

 

Meguiar's makes a product called Ultimate Black, a few applications of their plastic restorer will have that rubber looking like....better than new!
